Spam Filters
Find out more on spam filters - just what they are, how they work and the ways to create one.
A spam filter is a software application that runs on a mail server and keeps track of all inbound messages in order to obstruct any unasked-for ones from reaching a certain inbox. A few examples of such email messages would be: offers for pills or money, false banking notifications or attachments that contain malicious software sent with the idea to damage your personal computer. Email filters typically check the content of an email and in case they spot some keywords or other suspicious content, they either delete the email or forward it to the Spam/Junk folder instead of the Inbox folder. Certain providers mix their own filters with up-to-the-minute databases from spam-tracking organizations, so as to ensure better safety for their customers. Such databases contain patterns, mail server IPs and other info about spam emails recently reported by these organizations.
Spam Filters in Web Hosting
In case you decide to host your domains with us and you choose any of our web hosting, you will be able to enable anti-spam protection for any email address that you create. With a couple of clicks of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel, you can configure 5 different security levels. If you continue to receive spam messages or the email filters start preventing legitimate emails from entering your mailbox, you can switch to another level just as easily. The efficiency of our spam protection solution is ensured by one of the most widely used filters – SpamAssassin. In case you do not want to risk missing a legitimate email message that may be regarded as spam because of its content, you can also configure custom email filters based on the sender, the body or the subject of the email message and re-send the emails to a separate email account where you can review them at a later time.
